The current comparison experience does not require a shopper account.
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 31 August 2026. This policy explains what data we process, why we process it, and the choices available when you use Akhteserlak.
The image is processed in memory for the current search only.
We measure search and interaction without creating a public shopper profile.
Scope of this policy
This policy applies to Akhteserlak’s public experience in Kuwait and Jordan, including search, product-price comparisons, deals, price history, retailer redirects, and product-photo search.
The current shopper interface does not require a public account and does not collect shopper names, email addresses, or payment details. Administrative tools are separate and restricted to authorized operators.
Akhteserlak is a comparison service. When you leave for a retailer, that retailer’s checkout and privacy practices are separate from ours.
Price alerts are optional: we store your email, product, country, target price, and language to send a confirmation and one notification when the target is reached. Our email provider processes your address and message to deliver it. You can delete the alert and its data through the email link. Unconfirmed requests are deleted after 48 hours.
Information we process
We process a limited set of data needed to operate the comparison service and understand how it performs.
Search and filters
When a search is submitted, we record the normalized search term, country, category, sort choice, and result count. Keystrokes used only to show suggestions are not recorded as searches.
Product interactions
We record product-page opens, the in-site source of the click, retailer redirects, country, and a temporary session identifier used to reduce duplicate counts.
Operations and errors
Application error monitoring stores request method, path, HTTP status, error type, and a sanitized message. Its records exclude request bodies, query strings, headers, and session identifiers.
Audience measurement
We count each visit once a day to see how many people opened the site, which country they were in, and whether they browsed on a phone or a computer. The country is taken from the network the request arrives through, or from the browser's preferred language. Your address is combined with a private secret and the date and turned into a one-way code: the address itself is never stored, and today's code cannot be matched to tomorrow's.
Product-photo search
The upload is decoded, resized, and re-encoded in memory, which removes EXIF and location metadata. Akhteserlak sends the sanitized image and a limited list of candidate product names to the configured AI provider, with provider-side response storage disabled in the request.
Akhteserlak does not persist the original or sanitized image. We retain only limited operational outcome data such as match status, result count, confidence, and detected category or brand. The AI provider also processes the image under its own terms and practices.
How we use information
- Operate the service: show the correct country-specific products, prices, and retailers and perform search and matching.
- Improve discovery: understand submitted search terms and opened products to build trends and improve catalog navigation.
- Protect quality: deduplicate rapid repeat clicks, rate-limit visual search, and reduce misuse.
- Diagnose issues: identify and resolve interface and collection failures without retaining request contents in application error records.
Akhteserlak does not sell shopper data and does not currently use it for targeted advertising.
Session and browser storage
The site uses a technical session and session identifier for certain functions, click deduplication, and rate limits. Your browser may store the session in an essential cookie.
Appearance follows your device setting automatically. A manual change applies to the current page without saving a permanent browser preference. Language, country, search terms, and filters also appear in page URLs and may remain in browser history. Akhteserlak does not currently set advertising or marketing cookies.
Sharing and third parties
We share data only as needed to provide the service, operate its infrastructure, or comply with a valid legal obligation.
- Visual-search provider: receives the sanitized image and candidate product list only when you choose photo search.
- Retailers: when you choose “Go to store,” the retailer receives your visit like any direct website request and its own policy applies.
- Infrastructure providers: hosting, database, and network providers may process technical data on our behalf to keep the platform available.
- Law and safety: we may disclose information when legally required or necessary to protect the platform and its users.
Retention and security
Akhteserlak does not retain visual-search images. Search, click, visual-search outcome, and operational records may remain until removed through maintenance or a valid request; there is currently no single automatic deletion schedule for these records.
We use access controls, data minimization, sensitive-value redaction in error messages, and encrypted connections where supported by the infrastructure. No system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute protection.
Our providers may process data in countries different from the browsing market. Where that occurs, we rely on the provider’s arrangements and controls for that processing.
Your choices and how to contact us
Depending on applicable law, you may request an explanation, access, correction, deletion, or objection concerning data linked to you. Because most analytics are not tied to a public account, we may be unable to associate an anonymous record or session identifier with you without additional information.
You can clear the session cookie and local preference through browser settings, avoid photo search, or choose not to follow retailer links. Blocking the session cookie may affect some functions or measurements.
The service is for a general audience and is not designed to knowingly collect children’s personal information. If you believe a child submitted personal information, contact us so we can investigate.

We may update this policy as the platform or its data practices change. We will revise the effective date at the top when a material update is published.
